Checklists

I have been a motel/restaurant hunter, this camping is new to me.  We need some checklists to make sure we have what we need but don't double and triple up.  Every item is added weight especially if it is in the tow vehicle. For example, I have an ax, should I throw it in, not if Gip is bringing one. I think we need a checklist for tow vehicle, checklist for scouting trip, checklist for food stuffs. I will start with checklist for scouting and attach it.  Later I will add checklist for tow vehicle.

You can add things to my list by comments and or make a list for your vehicle and send by e mail or just put in comments to this post.  We may  have vehicles coming from IA and TX or Isaiah may elect to fly here and ride with me.  Tow Pickup, Gip's vehicle and UTV ought to be enough, but Isaiah may want to drive himself from Texas.  If he does, it gives us another vehicle to bring needed equipment and would cut down on weight in tow vehicle.

Gip, Kathy and I are staying  on the 15th and 16th of July at Princeton Hot Springs. I figure I can be away early morning to mid afternoon to go scouting in GMU 68 on 16th.  Probably can scout to 3:00 p.m. so I can get back to entertain the little woman.

I will send a scouting checklist by e-mail.

  1. My son may be joining us for the hunt. not sure how many days. may be 5,7 or 9 day hunt, just to early to tell. If he does we will be in the same pick up so would have to leave on his schedule. just not sure yet if camper or motel would be best. I've pulled travel trailers all over the place & I can tell you pulling them in the mountains is doable but stressful. We may want to think about it a little more before we decide. would be able to tell more after we see the area. the 16th is good for me for scouting.
